California Institute for Nursing and Health Care - A non-profit, non-partisan organization, CINHC is developing solutions to California’s nurse shortage by partnering with nursing associations, educational institutions, hospital and health systems, foundations, policy leaders, health care companies, consumers and individual nurses.

Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence - A nonprofit organization, the Center creates partnerships for problem-solving, studies the forces shaping Colorado’s nursing workforce, and works with health care organizations and institutions of higher education throughout the state to develop new programs based on the Center’s research findings.   http://www.coloradonursingcenter.org

Nursing Career Center of Connecticut - The Nursing Career Center of Connecticut (NCCC) is an independent non-profit corporation jointly founded in 2001 by the Connecticut League for Nursing and the Connecticut Nurses' Association. Florida Center for Nursing - The Florida Center for Nursing is nationally recognized as the definitive source for information, trends, research and forecasting about nurses and the dynamic nursing needs in Florida. Tennessee Center for Nursing – A statewide consortium to guide the ongoing development of an appropriate nursing work force, to conduct nursing work force analyses, to propose recommendations for nursing education and practice reform, to disseminate the findings and recommendations, and to develop an ongoing system to address the nursing work force as related to the future health care needs of the residents of Tennessee.

Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies – The CNWS serves as a resource for data and research on the nursing workforce in Texas. Vermont Office of Nursing Workforce Research Planning and Development - The purpose of this initiative is to implement the recommendations of the Blue Ribbon Nursing Commission in response to the Vermont nursing shortage. This will include the following: Design, conduct and report the findings of the nature of the nursing workforce in VT; Communicate and collaborate with the State College System, Agency of Human Services, UVM, AHEC and health care providers regarding the Vermont nursing workforce; Secure grant funding for the long-term viability of the Office; Coordinate with other statewide initiatives such as the Freeman Nurse Scholars Program and student loan repayment.
