The nurse refresher course is an 11 week planned course that meets 2 evenings a week. It is designed for individuals licensed to practice nursing, or whose license has lapsed, who are preparing to re-enter nursing practice.  It includes a review and update of core nursing care concepts & principles; a review and update on nursing practice theory and principle which includes: a review of current HIPAA regulations; infection control; pharmacology; legal, ethical, and cultural issues.  At the completion of the course, the participant will be prepared to enter an orientation program at an employing agency.  A physical exam, immunizations, documentation of a double (2 step) Mantoux (TB) test, blood work; CPR Certification; and criminal background investigation are required prior to the first evening of class.  Must have own liability insurance.
