In order to become a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed
Practical Nurse (LPN), the student must successfully graduate from a
nursing program. You may earn an Associate Degree (AD), Diploma (DI), or a
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) and pass the RN licensing
examination to become an RN, or complete a Practical Nurse course and pass
the LPN licensing examination to become a LPN. The examinations are
offered in every state and generally you take the exam in the state in
which you plan to work. The RN program can range from two to four years in
length, while the LPN program is generally 12 months long. If you are
