WELCOME
The New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing was established by
legislation on December 12, 2002. The Center works on behalf of nurses
to provide evidence-based recommendations regarding the nursing
workforce and its impact on patient care. The Center is in Rutgers
University, College of Nursing, Newark Campus (Rutgers
College Of Nursing). We are guided by a 17-member board representing
New Jersey nursing and healthcare stakeholders.
Mission To assure the best possible nursing
care for the citizens of New Jersey, the Center serves as a future
oriented research and development organization to develop and
disseminate objective information and provides an ongoing strategy for
the allocation of State resources directed towards the nursing workforce
(NJ P.L. 2002, c116).
Vision The Center is a primary source for
data-based evidence to formulate reliable health policy that has a
positive impact on nursing care, nursing education, and patient
outcomes. The Center serves as a catalyst for the implementation of
innovative practice and education models.
The New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing welcomes Jeannie
Cimiotti.
Born
and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Cimiotti comes to the Collaborating Center
from the University of Pennsylvania where she served as a Senior Fellow
at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and as a valuable
member of the renowned research team at the Center for Health Outcomes
and Policy Research, which is headed by Dr. Linda Aiken. Known for her
collaborative approach and successful management skills, the board
strongly believes that Dr. Cimiotti brings the right combination of
leadership, skills and experience to the Collaborating Center.
She is a leader who will be successful in advancing the Center’s mission
and we look forward to warmly welcoming her as the Collaborating
Center’s new Executive Director when she assumes this role on September
1st. Welcome back home to New Jersey, Jeannie!
